Welcome

Hello dear friend,

I'm so glad you've found your way here!  However you discovered Rest and Abide-- this is a place I hope you find rest and belonging.

Several years ago, I was sitting in a class learning about meditation when the Spirit gently whispered, “This will change your life.” At the time, I was in the thick of young motherhood, struggling to find true peace amidst the heaviness I often felt.

Through answered prayers, heaven-sent mentors, and God’s loving-kindness, I slowly developed a yoga and meditation practice that helped me connect to heaven in ways my soul had long been yearning for. Near the end of 2021, our family experienced the heartbreaking loss of our baby boy. That trial brought me to a place of deep hunger for connection with heaven and a desperate need for understanding in my broken mother-heart.

Once again, prayerful meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and some deep digging in the scriptures provided for me what nothing else seemed to be able to touch. In the stillness of sitting with God, I experienced sacred moments that illuminated my questioning mind, soothed my aching heart, and brought rest to my soul.

Rest and Abide is a space to share these tools that have blessed me with the heaven connection we all yearn for at times during our mortal sojourn. It’s where the things I hold so dear—walking in close relationship with God, gathering and learning with other daughter disciples of Christ, and practicing peace—become opportunities to learn, grow, and share with others who feel nudged to join me on this journey.

One of my favorite quotes (among the other 200 favorites) says, “We’re all just walking each other home.” (Ram Dass) Thank you for being here, for gathering with fellow daughter disciples, and for joining us as we learn to walk with Jesus and lift each other along the way back home to our Father.

xo,

Ashley

Ashley is a trauma-informed certified yoga teacher with additional training in Christ-centered meditation, Kundalini yoga, yoga nidra, kid's yoga, and self-compassion mindfulness.  She takes researched-based tools and teaches them through the lens of Jesus Christ and His gospel.   Ashley knows that as these healing and empowering tools are taught with the focus on our ultimate healer, true peace is found.

Another passion is studying the lives of women in the scriptures and finding parallels in modern-day women's lives.  It's been a joy learning to incorporate this passion into Rest and Abide, knowing that as we seek to encounter Christ in the scriptures, we more often find Him in our own stories.
